Photo Shoot Old Sac

I recently took time for a fun personal photo shoot in Old Sacramento. It is such a great location for photographs. Kelsey was happy to have some new images to add to her modeling portfolio and it was so much fun. The weather turned out perfect considering we had been having 100 plus temperatures.

Give me a call or shoot me an email if you would like to take advantage of the great backdrop of Old Sac and talk about your next photo session.

With Friends on Kauai

I am a little behind processing family pictures. These are from October of last year on the island of Kauai. I have many more from this trip and will post them as I go through the 600+ images. This is our friend Angela and her baby boy on the beach.

Cousins, Shots and Family Fun in Wilton

Everyone was already having a good time at the Dill Family Reunion when Vicki’s three grandaughters decided she needed to do some shots. Well it seemed like a good idea…….apparently  the lime was a little tart (I’m sure the tequila had a bite too)!

Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz in October is great! The weather is a little cool but no crowds. Still great to go to the beach although you don’t really want to jump in the water.  Plan your Santa Cruz Family Portrait now. Can’t make it to Santa Cruz, Folsom Lake doesn’t have the waves but we still have great sunsets!

Summer Portrait

I love photographing Heather! She is very comfortable in front of the camera. This Fall she will be heading off to college, how exciting, her cousin will miss her though.

Mike&Jeannette’s Vintage Wedding at Stone Barn Ranch

Jeannette met with me initially and by the end of our visit I felt like I had been with an old friend.  I was thrilled when she and Mike decided to have me photograph their wedding at Stone Barn Ranch.

A year of gathering everything vintage paid off with so many wonderful details.

Mike and Jeannette love to camp, so Jeannette was overcome with emotion when the surprise of a completely renovated mini travel trailer was revealed (their little lemon drop).

Rice and Electronics

I’m on the other side of a lovely pond and waterfall taking photos of a beautiful family. Across the water is my assistant holding my flash and pocket wizard on a monopod.  Somehow the flash and wizard come off the stand and fall, of all places, into the water!  The batteries fall out of the wizard on impact as it hits a rock, but the flash is still powered on, sitting there on the ground with a steamed up ineligible screen. I wrap them in a towel, take them home and  open them up as much as possible.

I covered them with rice for three days (my daughter once dropped her phone in water and it worked after one day in rice).  After I took them out of the rice I hit them with canned air and then inserted batteries.

Absolutely amazing, they both work! I don’t know if it was luck, rice or three days of air but I am so relieved I don’t have to go out and spend $600.

Graduation Time

High school senior Forrest wasn’t really excited about having his picture taken but he was a good sport and we ended up with some great images out at Folsom Lake.

Family of 26

Family Portrait in Auburn FoothillsIt’s quite a challenge to photograph 26 family members and get them all looking in the right direction, with great expressions and no little ones getting anxious.  But when it works and you add a beautiful backyard (a canyon with the river running through),  and a few clouds, it makes for a great family portrait.
